Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes Wow Musicares Gala Audience with Tribute to Dolly Parton
Miley Cyrus took the stage with Shawn Mendes to sing an energetic rendition of “Islands in the Stream” at the annual Musicares Gales earlier this weekend. The performance was a tribute to Miley’s godmother, country icon Dolly Parton, who originally sang the hit with country crooner Kenny Rogers back in 1983.
Miley’s current favorite partner-in-crime, Mark Ronson, accompanied her and Shawn on guitar for the performance.
But Miley, Sean and Mark’s performance at the gala was not the only thing that had the audience buzzing. Miley’s short, black, sequined dress also managed caused a bit of a stir. Former supermodel and current producer Tyra Banks commented on social media that Miley’s look left her “shooketh.” And even Miley’s husband, Liam Hemsworth, was moved to leave a thirsty comment under a pic on Miley’s Instagram, “Good god.”
Later in the show, Miley helped close things out with Dolly and a host of other performers including Maren Morris and Katy Perry, who helped perform a medley of Dolly’s greatest hits.
