Rochelle Humes in tears as Oritse Williams is cleared of rape: ‘So proud of you’
Jurors found JLS star Oritse Williams not guilty of charges of rape at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Oritse’s tour manager Jamien Nagadhana was also found not guilty of charges of sexual assault and assault by penetration with the same woman.
The X Factor singer, 32, had been accused of attacking a woman following a gig.
But jurors reached unaminous verdicts after deliberating for two hours and 17 minutes.
Delighted over the news, Oritse’s former bandmate Marvin Humes, 34, took to Instagram to share his joy.
Marvin shared a snap of Oritse to his 512,000 followers and wrote: “Cleared..Not Guilty! Finally my brother Oritse three years of hell is over! No-one will ever know or imagine what he’s been through…
“I’m just so proud of the way he conducted himself during what has been the most awful time…he is so strong and I know he can’t wait to start his life again now.
“We love you, O.”
His wife Rochelle, 30, also took to Instagram to share her feelings about Oritse being cleared.
She said: “This here is our brother, one of the kindest, most gentle, thoughtful men I know. Today he was cleared NOT guilty after three years of absolute hell.
“I’m so proud of how you have conducted yourself throughout this time, I really don’t think I could have held myself in the same way.
“Reesh we love you so much and I’m writing this crying so many happy tears, it’s over.”
Williams reportedly clasped his hands together, smiled and said “thank you” towards Judge Challinor QC when the verdicts returned.
He also shook hands with the dock officer once he was cleared.
