Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette suspended 1 game for punching Bills DE Shaq Lawson
The Jacksonville Jaguars will be facing yet another signfiicant change to their offense this week.
Running back Leonard Fournette was suspended one game by the NFL on Monday for violations of unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness, the league announced.
Fournette was ejected from Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the third quarter after leaving the bench and throwing punches at defensive end Shaq Lawson, who was also thrown out of the game after punching back.
Fournette will be held out of Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Carlos Hyde and T.J. Yeldon are expected to take over the bulk of the workload in the running game.
The No. 4 overall pick in 2018, Fournette finished eighth in the NFL in rushing as a rookie but has been hampered in an injury-plagued year, running for just 314 yards in five contests. The Jaguars (3-8) are in last place in the AFC South and have lost their last seven games.
Jacksonville enters the contest with significant upheaval after firing offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and benching quarterback Blake Bortles for Cody Kessler earlier in the day.
