Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ‘let Arsenal down’ in Sporting Lisbon draw, according to Gunners legend Martin Keown
The 29-year-old replaced Danny Welbeck during the first half after the England international suffered a suspected broken ankle.
But the ex-Borussia Dortmund striker failed to impress against their Portuguese opponents, missing a handful of chances as the Gunners were held to a 0-0 draw in the Europa League.
Arsenal have now drawn three out of their last four games in all competitions ahead of Sunday's home clash against newly-promoted Wolves.
Speaking on BT Sport, Keown stressed the Gabon ace should be doing more for the North London club, as he declared he is the closest thing the club have to Thierry Henry.
The 52-year-old said: "Aubameyang let Arsenal down. He is the closest thing to Thierry Henry since he left that club.
"He really is that good. And someone should really be in his camp pushing him on.
"Dragging him, drawing a performance out of him. Because he’s a special talent, scores lots of goals and it’s just a hunger.
"It’s getting to that boiling point and I don’t think he was there tonight."
Aubameyang is Arsenal's top scorer this season with nine goals in 15 games – and leads the way with Eden Hazard with seven strikes in the Premier League.
