Race-by-race guide and tips for Kembla Grange on Tuesday

Track Good 4 and Rail out 3m, so on-pace early before back-markers come into play.

Race 1 CL2 HCP (1000m):

Intriguing short-course race to start. The 3YO's should dominate, headed by Warwick Farm-trained 2. Royal Witness who resumed in good company with a fighting win from the front at Kensington defying a betting drift before fading late in similar grade at Warwick Farm, although they did go hard in front and was set up for a swooper. Draws to either lead, or sit comfortably behind the speed, but is weighted to hist best.

Dangers: Local 3YO colt 1. Fortification resumes having won first-up last prep at Warwick Farm in good style when well backed. No official trial, but should box seat behind the leader and be in the finish. Big watch on resuming Rosehill 4YO 3. Hostwin Shadow who hasn't started for 11 months, but won two trials coming in, the latest quickening nicely from the turn under a hold. Wyong 3YO 4. McCormack charged home to win his only start at Hawkesbury in November after winning two trials, but recent trial only fair, although was never extended.

How to play it: Royal Witness to win and first four 2/1-3-4.

Race 2 MAIDEN HCP (1300m):

Tricky race of tactics, with only 1.5kg separating top to bottom. Godolphin filly 7. Nanda Devi has had three runs in each time doing her best work late, and from the good gate will be hitting the line hard again.

Dangers: A 3YO daughter of Snitzel and Tuesday Joy on debut for leading Warwick Farm stable will have breeding purists excited. 4. Tuesday Special has had plenty of time at the trials winning at Warwick Farm before an even effort at Randwick when allowed to work through the line from off the speed. Randwick filly 3. Smart Decision will improve second-up after debuting with a fair closing effort at Warwick Farm.

How to play it: Nanda Devi to win and box trifecta 3-4-7.

Race 3 PROV & CTRY MAIDEN PLATE (1300m):

Wyong-trained 3YO 4. Holy Reign hit the line nicely first up at Taree over a similar trip, and expected to train on into second-up run. Will go back from wide gate, but long straight suits.

Dangers: Local 3YO 3. Big Data has been close up in all three runs this prep, including behind the smart Ljungberg at Canterbury when resuming. Both Goulburn 3YO 9. Spicy Menu who didn't get it to suit at Moruya; and locally-trained 5. Kentucky Award who finished off well at Nowra; are each way hopes.

How to play it: Holy Reign to win and quinella 3 and 4.

Race 4 F & M CL1 HCP (1400m):

Keen on Randwick mare 2. Echo Princess. Debuted with a strong win at Newcastle before a good tough effort at Canterbury when she sat in the breeze on a solid speed and was over-run, but still found the line okay. Back in trip suits and drawn to park right behind the speed.

Dangers: Stablemate 1. Wide Spread Panic did nothing resuming at Canterbury a month back, but has gone back to the trials, and only previous win came second-up on the Kensington track. Local mare 6. Mick's New Chick improved to win her maiden, and is hard fit for the extra trip, but rising in grade; while another local last-start winner 7. Chicadilly is having her first crack at 1400m.

How to play it: Echo Princess each way.

Race 5 C, G & E CL1 HCP (1400m):

Now the boys' turn in what is an open battle. Randwick colt 2. Lion's Head was a big price when rattling home third-up in a BM 64 this track, and looks ready to win.

Dangers: Godolphin 3YO and former Victorian 1. Leatherhead resumes from a wide gate under 60kg, but has ability and will probably go further than most of these. Nicely-bred Hawkesbury colt 3. Schnapps was tough winning his maiden at Gosford from the front when challenged from everywhere. First go this trip is a query, but stable has a real sense of timing. Local 3YO 4. Chicansalade finally cracked his maiden last start when backed in from a big price.

How to play it: Lion's Head each way.

Race 6 BM 64 HCP (1200m):

Good race, with plenty of chances. Warwick Farm-trained 1. Homework is a nice 4YO who resumed in a BM 70 working home from well back, and will improve again second-up at this trip. Handicapper hasn't missed him, but draws to coil up midfield and be produced late.

Dangers: Punters will be anxious with talented Godolphin filly 3. Laburnum who has twice loomed to win in both runs this prep, just hasn't finished it off, and draws a wide barrier here. Warwick Farm-trained 5. Dorf Star hasn't quite got the engine or heart of his mother Dorf Command, but found the line nicely at Gosford this grade, and should be ready to peak third-up. Big watch on the Hayes-Dabernig filly 10. Seewhatshebrings who campaigned strongly across Victoria in the spring, and has had two nice trials in Sydney for this first-up run. Will go back from a wide gate, but look for her late. Warwick Farm filly 12. Buckle Up Baby defied her big price launching late to just miss this grade at Gosford, and draws again sit midfield and finish hard.

How to play it: Homework to win and trifecta 1-5/1-3-5-10-12.

Race 7 MAIDEN HCP (1600m):

All aboard Randwick filly 2. Le Amoureux who just missed at Newcastle two runs back before covering ground back in the field and then checked at a vital stage 150m from home at Warwick Farm. Draws to park midfield and charge over the top.

Dangers: Big market watch on ex-Kiwi 1. Sir Harry now with top Sydney stable. Was sent back to the trials after flopping first-up at Gosford three weeks back. Stablemate 3. Reposition hit the line hard this track last start, and again will go back from a wide gate and get home. Randwick 3YO 6. Monterey Lad has powered home in his last two at Canberra and Gosford, and gets in nicely after form rider's claim.

How to play it: Le Amoureux to win.

Race 8 BM 64 HCP (1600m):

Another competitive clash, but like Randwick mare 6. Ikara Miss. Flew home to win her maiden resuming at Wyong seven weeks back, and last start this track again finished hard from the back. Will go back from a wide gate, but screaming for the mile and beyond being out of a Don Eduardo mare.

Dangers: Warwick Farm mare 7. Pamela was only beaten by the bias at Orange two runs back and then made amends with a dominant win at Goulburn. This is tougher, but also suited by the long stretch. Local mare 8. Genoveffa continues finding the line up to BM 70 level this prep, and draws a nice gate for form rider.

How to play it: Ikara Miss each-way and box exacta 6-7-8.
