Southampton ace Ryan Bertrand's model lover 'robbed of Rolex watch' after a masked bandit 'tailed taxi home' following night out

Model Mari Burch was ordered to hand over the diamond-encrusted watch as she got out of a taxi at 5.45am.

Sources say she was threatened with a weapon by a masked bandit suspected of following her taxi after she left a nightclub in Central London.

It is understood England and Southampton left-back Ryan, 29, was in the house with their two children at the time of the robbery.

Mari, in her late 20s, raised the alarm and police were called to the gated house in Cobham, Surrey. She was “shocked and distressed’’ by the robbery, but unharmed.

The robber is believed to have had an accomplice driver. A source said: “Mari had been out with friends and left the children with a babysitter before Ryan got back.

It is believed she was followed by robbers who spotted her watch and jewellery.”

Ryan calls his WAG “Superwoman’’ but the source added: “There is no suggestion that she was deliberately targeted because of who she is.”

The Premier League star has shared Instagram snaps of the glamorous beauty – thought to be originally from Brazil.

Mari gave police a statement. A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “A woman was robbed in Cobham early this morning by an unknown man as she was exiting a taxi. No arrests have been made but inquiries continue.’’
