Toni Kroos slams Real Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale for playing for Wales despite injury woes after summer transfer saga – The Sun
TONI KROOS has slammed Gareth Bale for joining up with the Wales squad despite being out of action for Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old is expected to feature in the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Hungary.
But he has not played for the Spanish giants since his last match for Ryan Giggs' side against Croatia on October 13.
Speaking about his team-mate's absence, Kroos said: "It is a little inconvenient when you go to your national team, then you do not play for your club.
"After that, you are fit to play for your national game again. Maybe this is not the best time."
Reports claim that Zinedine Zidane's side are keen to ditch the "arrogant" ex-Tottenham star in January.
And Kroos thinks it has been hard for Bale to get back to normal at the Bernabeu after a summer of speculation.
The 29-year-old said: "He was already about to leave the club in the summer.
"After these types of things, where they both [club and player] seem to have moved on, it is difficult to return to normality.
"Taking that into account, I have got the impression that he is motivated and has also had a few notable performances."
