How many people would go on a first date on Valentine’s Day, revealed
It’s a day that many singletons dread, but Valentine’s Day is very nearly here.
While restaurants and bars on the 14 February are likely to be full of couples, it seems that many singletons would happily try their own luck with love on the big day.
A new survey has revealed that more than half of daters would be willing to go on a first date on Valentine’s Day.
The survey, by dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, asked over 6,600 people about their views on first dates.
It revealed that 54% of people would happily go on a first date on Valentine’s Day.
A blog about the findings explained: “Our poll also showed that conversation, timeliness, and thoughtful date planning (e.g. made a reservation) were the most important factors for making a good first impression on a first date.
“Receiving a gift (i.e. flowers or chocolates) got only 11% of the vote, so it’s OK if you forget the Forget Me Nots.”
The survey also found that while 31% of people would be willing to split the bill on a first date, 52% said men should foot the bill.
