Heart-warming moment deaf baby hears his mum’s voice for the first time

Little Alex Denman-Sang was born with Bilateral Moderate Sensorineural hearing loss which means he has been practically deaf his whole life.

The five-month-old was fitted with new hearing aids.

And a clip of the moment went viral after Alder Hey Children's Hospital tweeted his adorable reaction.

Alex appeared on This Morning along with his mum Jen Denman to talk about the overwhelming response to the clip.

In the footage shs says "hello, it's mummy" prompting Alex to smile.

It is now been viewed more than 800,000 times and even shared by comedian Dawn French.


Doctors discovered Alex had partial hearing loss after a routine newborn hearing test.

Mum Jen said the family are now learning sign language to help Alex.

She said: "The earlier you start it, the easier. Every time we say milk, mummy, daddy and brother we use sign language."
