Royal dramatically pulls out of Eugenie wedding after breaking her arm
Buckingham Palace has announced that Princess Alexandra, the Queen’s cousin, will not be attending today’s royal wedding as she has recently broken her arm.
The injury required surgery and left her unable to take part in public events following medical advice, the palace confirmed.
The 81-year-old supports the monarch in her duties as head of state.
She is often seen at ceremonial occasions alongside other members of the royal family.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will marry in a lavish ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
The official Order of Service for the wedding was revealed last night in a 22-page booklet which includes details about the processions, music, hymns, prayers and readings.
Around 850 guests will begin to arrive from 9am with senior royals and A-list celebrities expected to attend.
The ceremony will begin at 11am, an hour earlier than Harry and Meghan’s service which started at 12pm.
Queen Elizabeth II will arrive for Eugenie and Jack’s service at 10.52am, similar to Harry and Meghan’s ceremony which she attended just eight minutes before.
