Woman falls into shark tank during feeding time after door is left open

A woman tripped and fell into a SHARK TANK after the feeding hatch was left open.

The unnamed woman was caught on camera as she fell into the glass-bottomed tank.

Dramatic footage from the Wuyue Plaza shopping complex in Jiaxing city in eastern China, shows the woman failing to notice the open top as she is running across a gangway.

The suspended glass-bottom fish tank housing several baby lemon sharks is one of the shopping centre’s main attractions.

According to a spokesman, the staff member was late for a meeting and used the gangway as a shortcut when she tripped on the open tank lid and fell in.

The video shows her landing on her stomach on the edge of the opening before falling into the water, spooking a number of the sharks too.

Fortunately, her colleagues rush over and two security guards jump into the fish tank to pluck her to safety.

"The gangway is off limits during feeding time but the employee was in a rush to get to a meeting," a spokesman said.

He added: "She was quickly rescued from the tank and did not suffer any injuries."
