However, certain older devices still are.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30287812.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_EE-brand-logo-seen-in-Carnaby-Street-in-London-UK.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The 3G smartphones used by EE&apos;s customers on pay monthly contracts include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apple iPhone 4<\/li>\n<li>Apple iPhone 4S<\/li>\n<li>Samsung Galaxy Ace<\/li>\n<li>Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini<\/li>\n<li>Doro 6520, 6521 and 6620<\/li>\n<li>Nokia 301<\/li>\n<li>Nokia C2-01<\/li>\n<li>TCL Pixi 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, there are other devices which are 3G-only that EE customers might still be using on a pay-as-you-go contract.<\/p>\n<p>Many of these smartphones aren&apos;t even made or sold anymore by their manufacturers, and in the case of the iPhone devices, no longer receive vital system software updates or security patches.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30287809.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_dissatisfied-woman-waving-her-hand-showing-at-the-phone-mouth-open-frowning-her-eyebrows-lowering-ey.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>So if you&apos;re clinging onto your old tech it&apos;s probably a good idea to trade in your old device for a new one anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Customers of other networks including Three and Vodafone will also be affected as the 3G network is shut down next year.<\/p>\n<p>Greg McCall, Chief Networks Officer at BT, said: &quot;Our\u00a03G\u00a0network will be switched off in early 2024.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;While this won\u2019t affect the vast majority of our customers, we will offer support for those who are still using old, incompatible devices.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailystar.co.uk\/tech\/news\/thousands-smartphones-stop-working-properly-30287903\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you&apos;re the owner of an aging smartphone on the EE network, bad news: you&apos;re going to lose your mobile Internet access soon.
