Alex Jones takes swipe at husband on The One Show and admits she ‘hopes he’s not watching’
The One Show: Alex says her husband ‘is not’ romantic
Alex Jones, 43, couldn’t resist taking a swipe at her husband Charlie Thomson after gushing over Robbie Williams’ romantic note to his wife Ayda Field on The One Show tonight. The Welsh presenter made the dig at her other half after the singer’s sweet gesture was shown on-screen.
It read: “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me. I adore you. Love Robbie.”
Although Alex seemed impressed by the Rock DJ hitmaker’s words, they then made her feel disappointed over the lack of romantic gestures in her marriage.
Praising Robbie for showing his sentimental side in the studio, Alex said: “That’s good, 10 years.
“I’d be impressed if my husband was still like that, he’s not!”

However, Alex became slightly concerned that her husband could have heard her jibe while tuning into the show.
“I hope he’s not watching either,” the star quipped.
Fortunately for Alex, Robbie revealed he had an ulterior motive behind leaving the note for Ayda that day.
The star admitted: “Man United were on TV that night and I was like, ‘Can I watch the football babe?’”
It comes after Alex gave another insight into her relationship while discussing the right time to put up the Christmas tree with her co-host Amol Rajan.
The star revealed she clashed with her husband Charlie about when to deck the halls after a disaster last year.
The pair began by showing viewers their newly-decorated studio in the run-up to the big day.
Amol then turned to Alex and asked her about a “home palaver” she had told him about.

Explaining to viewers, she said: “We had a discussion, slash, argument about the tree earlier on, because it’s a real tree and last year, we went through two.
“On the 16th, the whole thing toppled over… dead!”
Surprised by her admission, Amol interjected: “On the 16th? That’s not much of a tree.”
Agreeing, she added: “So this year, I thought, no we’ve got to wait until the weekend.”
Alex’s co-host then suggested she should use a fake tree to avoid another mishap.
“No, I like the smell,” she replied.
Alex lives in London with her husband Charlie, who she married in 2015.
The pair share two sons together; three-year-old Teddy and Kit, who is nine months old.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
