Alfie Boe issues warning to fans as scammers attempt to extort money: ‘Please be careful’

Alfie Boe, 47, sent out an important warning to his social media followers after some had flagged receiving messages from fake accounts posing be the singer. With the fraudsters attempting to steal money from their targets, Aflie wanted to make it very clear the accounts pretending to be him, were not.

Taking to Twitter, he shared an image of a statement he had written to advise his fans to be careful.

He captioned the post: “Please be aware of fake profiles and scams!”

The statement read: “Caution – fake social media accounts.

“Please can all my followers be aware of fake and fraudulent profiles on social media platforms pretending to be me and then contacting my fans and followers trying to scam money out of people,” Alfie wrote.

“My official social pages have the official ‘Blue Tick’ next to my name.

“So I ask you all to please be careful when interacting with anyone online and NEVER transfer money to anyone pretending to be me.”

Following his words of warning fans shares their thoughts on the fraudsters, with some revealing they had been also targeted.

“That was nice of you to put out a warning as some people think it’s real, I have had quite a few myself, thank you Alfie,” one penned.

“There are so many out there, we always report when this happens!” another added.

A third said: “Thanks for the warning Alfie.”

On a lighter note, the tenor announced he was more than excited to get back to performing on stage.

With his summer tour kicking off in a couple of weeks, he couldn’t contain his glee.

“Counting down the days and weeks until my Summer shows kick off…” he posted online.

“I can’t wait to see you all!

“Who’s coming along to one of the shows? If so which one?”

Many delighted fans rushed to the comments section to reply to the singer and let them know they too, couldn’t wait for him to get back in action.

“Not until December, I’m afraid Alfie. Looking forward immensely though,” one said.

A second commented: “Not until December Brighton and London also meet and greet so look out, cannot wait to see you.”

“Harewood, can’t wait to see you back in action. It’s been much too long,” a third praised.
