Arsenal fans’ plans for Arsene Wenger’s send off revealed

Arsenal fans are planning to fly one last banner for boss Arsene Wenger as part of his send off, it has been revealed.

Airads Banners, the same company who flew two planes over the Hawthorns with conflicting Wenger messages in March 2017, tweeted confirmation of the booking on Friday afternoon.

While the message hasn’t been revealed, the receipt shows that the banner will be flown over the Emirates for Arsenal’s last home league clash of the season, against Burnley on May 6.

After Wenger revealed his decision to leave Arsenal at the end of the season, it will also be the home fans’ last chance to say goodbye to the man they’ve known very well for the past 22 years.

Wenger is no stranger to banners, having experienced two in the same game last season, against West Brom.

A first plane carried a message reading "NO CONTRACT. #WENGEROUT."

Before, remarkably, another banner shortly followed backing the Arsenal boss, reading: "IN ARSENE WE TRUST #RESPECTAW."

Wenger will no doubt be hoping for just the one message this time, and that it’s a positive one.
