Art collectors pack Dia:Beacon benefit
Art insiders turned their attention from Frieze on Randalls Island to Beacon, NY, for the Dia:Beacon Spring Benefit on Saturday.
Spotted at the lunch gala were billionaire collectors including Linda Macklowe with Julie and Billy Macklowe, Adam Lindemann with wife Amalia Dayan and their kids — as well as Robert Soros, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and wife Jane Skinner Goodell, co-chairs including Nathalie and Charles de Gunzburg and Lena Dunham’s artist dad, Carroll Dunham, and chairman emeritus Barnes & Noble founder Leonard Riggio.
Riggio previously donated $30 million to fund the museum’s acquisition of art, including three sculptures by Richard Serra, which were among the art in the permanent collection that guests perused, including a special kids program.
The event also served to launch two new installations by artists Mary Corse and Dorothea Rockburne.
Also spotted were Selma Blair at a table with design creatives from Cos, Ashley Olsen, and artists Tracey Emin and Taryn Simon, Brice Marden, Marilyn Minter and Charles Gaines.
