‘It gave my the opportunity to cleanse my soul. I mailed the good letter to Meghan [Markle] and it’s in the post.’

‘The ultimate outcome to that letter would be the smallest of any type of response. It may take a month or a year but if I get something out of it, I’ve achieved my goal.’

Earlier in the season, Thomas wrote a letter apologising to Meghan and Prince Harry.

Back in 2018, Thomas penned an open letter to the Prince where he warned him against marrying Meghan and described her as ‘jaded, shallow and conceited’.

Thomas penned another open letter on the show where he revealed the harsh words ‘came from a very dark and hurt part’ of his heart, and insisted that he’s ‘not a mean person at all’.

After writing his second open letter to the Royals, Thomas read out the words to Big Brother.

‘Dear Meghan and Harry, the first thing I want to say to both of you is that I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart for the awful mean letter that I wrote to you prior to your wedding.

‘And I want both of you to know it did not come from the real person that I am, but came from a very dark and hurt part of my heart… I am not a mean person at all, and I have more love inside me to give than anything.’

Thomas went on to say that the letter was written out of ‘hurt’ when Meghan, 40, described him as ‘distant family’.

‘The letter was definitely written out of me feeling like really hurt and confused when I was informed of your response that I was distant family and that you did not know those people,’ he said.

‘I was very hurt and confused because of the amazing bond and relationship we shared growing up together and all I could do was put up a defence wall to protect my heart.

‘I know that it was very immature and wrong and I truly regret it. When your relationship with Harry became known to the world, my life then became public.

‘I along with everyone in our family became public figures overnight. No more privacy. And let me tell you it was very, very stressful to have to deal with [that] all alone and no help at all.

Remorseful: Earlier this season, Thomas wrote a letter apologising to his estranged half-sister and Prince Harry

‘A real nightmare and constant pressure. I wish I could turn back the clock and do it all over, knowing what I know now.’

He continued: ‘I would have never tried to communicate any of my feelings in the media. I feel like a complete a** for what I have done, and I am truly sorry for that.

‘Meg, if I could really turn the clock back, I would truly tell you that I am so, so proud of you and truly I am so happy for you and Harry. And I love you.

‘You are my little sister, my family and you always will be. Now you have found the love of your life and started a family of your own.. couldn’t be more proud of you.

Apology: Back in 2018, Thomas had penned an open letter to Prince Harry where he warned him against marrying Meghan and described her as ‘jaded, shallow and conceited’

‘The last several years of my life, I have grown and learned a lot more of myself and I must say that what I did to you with that letter is quite possibly the biggest mistake of my life.

‘I truly hope you and Harry find it in your hearts somehow to accept my sincere apology because this is the real Tom Markle Jr. I truly love you guys and I want you to know that about me.

He concluded: ‘I wish you Megan, Harry, Archie and Lily the happiest, most loving life possible. Sincerely, your big brother, Tom.’
