He famously cycled into hiding after escaping from court as psychopath Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley.
And in real life, James Norton’s latest bike ride could land him in trouble.
The actor, 37, was seen jumping a red light near a police station as he whizzed through central London.
Norton, who was wearing a helmet, came close to a cyclist on a hire bike as he crossed over the white line into the yellow box where a car with right of way was passing in front of him.
The Highway Code states that cyclists, like drivers, must not cross the final white stop line when the traffic light is red.

If caught, cyclists can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £30.

Last year, then Transport Secretary Grant Shapps revealed plans for a new law to prosecute dangerous cyclists.
Norton previously cycled across London for the Stroke Association in memory of his grandmother.
He is currently on stage playing a disabled lawyer in A Little Life, an adaptation of the novel by Hanya Yanagihara.
It comes just months after Norton’s villainous alter-ego Royce killed himself after a final encounter with Sarah Lancashire’s Sergeant Cawood in the BBC’s Happy Valley.
