Loose Women is set to welcome Christine Lampard back from maternity leave – and she'll be joined by two brand new panellists.

The chat show host has been taking some time off with her second baby, Freddie, who was born four months ago, but in welcome news for the show's fans, it's been confirmed that she will be back on screen later this year.

However, the 42-year-old's return isn't the only panel change that viewers can look forward to, as two new regular panel members will join the cast from the autumn.

Actress Sunetra Sarker and TV presenter Katie Piper are joining the roster of famous women discussing the day's topical issues and will sit alongside other familiar stars including Janet Street Porter, Coleen Nolan, Nadia Sawalha, Judi Love and Charlene White.

Sunetra is known for starring in No Angels, Casualty, and competing in Strictly Come Dancing, while Katie has presented a number of documentaries about being the victim of an acid attack, is a writer and has also taken part in Strictly.

Both Sunetra and Katie have been guests on the panel before, but this is the first time they will be regular members of the cast which changes its line-up each day.

Loose Women has also confirmed that the popular spin-off Loose Men will be back in November for International Men's Day.

It has run twice before – last November was the first time it aired, and the show returned again in May for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Male stars who have sat on the panel include Richard Madeley, Jordan Banjo, Roman and Martin Kemp, and Iain Stirling.

While Christine's maternity leave isn't over quite yet, Loose Women won't be the first time she is back on screen as she is taking on part of Lorraine Kelly's holiday cover over the summer.

Christine was recently a guest on Lorraine where she admitted to having "hated" watching husband Frank Lampard take penalties during his football career as she discussed England's loss at the Euros.
