Speaking to The Sun Online about the one-off doc, he said: “I’m excited to be the subject of this documentary.
“This is a film that looks in detail at my journey: The highs, the lows, the beautiful game, finally I have the opportunity to show the person I really am.”
Wayne and Coleen’s documentary is set to be directed by Matt Smith, who filmed Rio Ferdinand’s touching show Being Mum and Dad, where he explored the struggles of being a single parent after his first wife Rebecca Ellison’s death in 2015.
The professional footballer will discuss his career, from his move to to the US, where he signed to DC United in 2018.
But, it’s not known if the film, which is set to be released in the cinemas next year, will discuss Coleen’s row with Rebekah Vardy, who has reportedly launched a £1million defamation lawsuit against the WAG.
The lawsuit comes after Coleen accused Rebekah Vardy’s Instagram account of leaking stories to the press about her private life in a sensational statement shared on her own social media last year.
Coleen and Rebekah, 38, were later reported to have attempted to settle the matter outside of court, but they were said to be “at loggerheads” over the row.

After it was reported Rebekah has since launched a libel case against Coleen, her legal team later released a statement in reaction to the proceedings.
It read: “It is disappointing that Mrs Vardy has chosen to issue court proceedings.
“Coleen feels that the time and money involved could be put to better use; her offer to meet face to face still stands.
“Mrs Vardy's decision to issue court proceedings does at least mean that Coleen's evidence can be made public when the time is right.”
