Vanessa Bauer has confessed she understands why her Dancing On Ice partners' girlfriends worry.

The 24 year old has made headlines in the past after several of her former dance partners have suffered heartbreaking splits after going on the ice with her.

Back in 2018, X Factor star Jake Quickenden, 32, broke up with 27 year old Danielle Fogarty less than a month after competing on the popular show.

The following year, Love Island star Wes Nelson, 22, and blonde bombshell Megan Barton Hanson, 26, called it quits on their relationship while he was still on the TV programme.

Now, Vanessa has admitted that while she is a complete professional when it comes to her job, she does understand why her partners' girlfriend worry about their significant others.

“I can understand why my partners’ girlfriends find it difficult," she told The Sun Online. "We spend so much time together rehearsing – but I’m professional, and I can’t stress that enough."

Vanessa went on to explain that the performances are meant for the audience to believe in a romantic story, but it's not real.

She continued: “We’re telling a story on the ice, and it’s nothing more than that, but you have to try to come across as genuine. It’s a performance but it’s created to make the love story real for the audience. We are acting on the ice.”

The talented star added: “I never want to know the ins and outs of my partners’ romantic relationships. It’s their business. When my partners have split from their girlfriends I doubt it’s got anything to do with me."

It comes as Vanessa was recently linked to linked to hunky personal trainer Rory McCall after the pair were spotted enjoying time together in London over Christmas.

The German skating pro spent Christmas with Rory, according to The Sun, with a source telling the publication: “Obviously it’s only a few weeks ago that Joe-Warren was splitting up from his girlfriend and everyone was talking about his closeness to Vanessa — and now she’s quietly meeting a new guy.”

Emmerdale actor Joe-Warren Plant is Vanessa’s current Dancing On Ice partner, with the pair set to take to the ice when the programme begins on Sunday 17 January.

And while training for the show, rumours arose about a romance sparking up between Joe and Vanessa, after the 18 year old actor split from his girlfriend of three years Nicole Hadlow, 24.

The source continued: “Joe has been staying at his mum’s place in Blackpool after moving out but of course he still has training commitments because the show will be starting very soon.

“Vanessa and Joe are playing down suggestions of romance, but his girlfriend was clearly uncomfortable with their relationship and now she’s already dating someone else in secret. It all just seems very awkward.”
