GB News presenter Kirsty Gallacher has fired back at a viewer of the show after they shared their criticism of a segment. Posting in view of her 431,000 followers on Twitter she told them to not “judge or comment” without full knowledge after they criticised her presenting style.
The former Sky Sports presenter felt compelled to respond after an interview with political commentator Tom Harwood.
Following him announcing his debut last week on the show on Twitter, one viewer hit back at how Kirsty interviewed him.
They penned: “Can you please ask Kirsty to stop interrupting you halfway thru a sentence.” (sic)
Kirsty couldn’t resist addressing the moment as she pointed out what had really happened.
She replied: “Actually Tom lost audio at that point and I needed to wrap up that segment.
“Please don’t judge or comment without knowledge of a situation, we are all trying our best.”
GB News has been the recipient of a great deal of criticism since it launched a few weeks ago.
This is because the channel had faced several technical issues when it launched.
However, Kirsty and the other GB News presenters have been responding to viewers about this.
After other Twitter users commented on poor picture quality, Kirsty praised a fan who said to listen to the content instead.
She penned: “Well said thank you! Those things will be ironed out ASAP.”
Elsewhere, Kirsty opened up last weekend about why she decided to leave Sky News.
Appearing on James Martin’s Saturday Morning, the 45-year-old opened up her exit.
She explained: “I loved my time there. It was like a family as well.
“All lovely and very comfortable. But I like, you know this about me, I like a challenge.
“I just felt I was too comfortable, and I needed and wanted to do something different.
“I spoke to a few people and went, ‘I’ve been offered this other project and this one, what do you think?’
“And a lot of people just went ‘follow your gut’ and so I followed my gut and it was a passion project. I’m talking about the podcast really.”
Kirsty hosts a podcast called Stripped Back Sport where she sits down with sporting stars.
Some of the people she’s had an open conversation with include Jason Bell and Lydia Greenway.
