Emily Andre hits out at Courtney Green for flouting social distancing

Emily Andre hits out at TOWIE star Courtney Green for flouting social distancing at her 25th birthday party and then posting it all over Instagram

Emily Andre has hit out at Courtney Green and her TOWIE co-stars for their blatant disregard of social distancing while celebrating her 25th birthday last month.

The doctor, 30, who has been working tirelessly on the frontline, wrote in her column with OK! Magazine people in the public eye have a moral responsibility to look like they are following the rules.

At the end of last month, Courtney and many of her co-stars sparked outrage when they posted a slew of snaps from birthday celebrations and mocked the 2m rule.

Emily wrote: ‘It seems unfair because lots of people are breaking the rules, but unfortunately when you have so many social media followers it’s a bit more tricky.

‘Whether on not you agree with the rules, when you’re in the public eye I think you have a duty to try and at least look like you’re social distancing.

‘It’s probably not the best idea to post it all over social media for their young followers to see.’

Outrageous: At the end of last month, Courtney and many of her co-stars sparked outrage when they posted a slew of snaps from the birthday celebrations and mocked the 2m rule

Inspirational: It is little wonder why Peter Andre’s wife was riled up by the flouting of rules, given the fact she has been working on the frontline in the fight against coronavirus

Emily went on to say how she thinks it is a good idea for localised lockdowns after the rise in cases in Leicester.

Last week, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed lockdown measures will be extended in the East Midlands city for at least two weeks after a dramatic surge in cases, with non-essential shops closed again and schools shut from Thursday.

In a series of brazen Instagram videos shared during Courtney’s party, guests including Yazmin Oukhellou, Chloe Meadows, Chloe Lewis and Amber Turner displayed their blatant disregard for the rules surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moral duty: Emily wrote: ‘It seems unfair because lots of people are breaking the rules, but unfortunately when you have so many social media followers it’s a bit more tricky’

Is it that funny? Adding further insult to injury to those abiding by the rules, Courtney posed for a picture with a guest and the joke caption: ‘Are we 2 metres apart?’

Unwise: Emily said: ‘It’s probably not the best idea to post it all over social media for their young followers to see’

After Chloe L, 29, shared a picture from the party, a follower queried why she was not acknowledging the rules, to which she responded: ‘not a party & we have had tests done. So we are safe ‘, while Courtney shared a post mocking the 2 metre rule.

Courtney and her parents hosted a party at their Essex home, with a series of lavish additions including a full karaoke set-up, an ice-cream van and masses of booze.

In true TOWIE style, the party was documented in forensic detail on social media with guests sharing videos throughout the evening.

Just some of the unlawful acts in the video saw Yazmin and birthday girl Courtney sharing a kiss, guests sharing microphones and close cuddles.

Adding further insult to injury to those abiding by the rules, Courtney posed for a picture with a guest with both their hands extended and the joke caption: ‘Are we 2 metres apart’, in a nod to rules at the time insisting people kept a distance of 2 metres.
