Gemma Collins has admitted that her ongoing battle with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) HAS forced her to take her workouts "slower" this week.

The former TOWIE star, who has lost three stone so far, has been documenting her inspiring weight loss journey for her fans on Instagram.

And in a new post shared on Sunday, the 40 year old candidly explained that she relied on "easier workouts" and "longer sleep" after battling a tough week.

Sharing a snap of herself wearing her favourite hot pink two-piece gym wear set while posing with her trusty treadmill, Gemma began her caption: "Happy Sunday guys. Recap on the week.

"My PCOS hasn't been great this week, but I found the strength to keep going. I did easier workouts and knew to listen to my body.

"I went to bed earlier got up a little later and didn't over do it. I'm always juggling a lot of plates but I just took it slower."

Gemma added that her post was intended to inspire others who "need to dig a little deeper".

PCOS is a hormonal condition that causes a woman's reproductive hormones to be out of balance.

The blonde was met with a wave of support from her fans, with one commenting: "I never knew you had PCOS. Its tough at times, you are just inspire others! Please raise PCOS awareness."

Another wrote: "Good for you, an inspiration to thousands of men and woman."

Gemma has shed three stone so far with a new workout routine and diet overhaul to aid her new healthy lifestyle.

As well as her early morning workouts, the TV personality has also been trying several other health and fitness tactics.

Earlier this month, Gemma stripped off to chill her body in a -180C cryotherapy machine.

The machine is designed to target the body's natural metabolic systems to burn fat, boost weight loss, increase energy and reduce inflammation, a popular addition to many celebrities and athletes' workouts.

In a post shared to her Instagram Stories last month, Gemma also revealed she has a weekly magnesium drip.

Gemma has also introduced cupping and crystals therapy to help reduce pain and stress on her body from the intense workout routines she does each week.
