Gerrard’s response to Lineker’s cheeky jibe over managers with no experience

Steven Gerrard hit back at Gary Lineker’s cheeky claim that managers with no experience shouldn’t be taking big jobs.

The BT Sport presenter made the joke after he and his fellow pundits were discussing the rumours surrounding Zeljko Buvac to Arsenal.

Liverpool’s number two temporarily left his post earlier this week after a reported dispute with Jurgen Klopp.

Gerrard meanwhile made headlines after being linked with the Rangers job.

After discussing the Buvac to Arsenal rumours, Lineker made a jibe over ‘managers with no experience taking big jobs’.

"Nothing wrong with that – having no experience," replied Gerrard on BT Sport. "There’s only one way to gain it."

The Liverpool legend has held talks with the Scottish side and provided an update prior to Real Madrid’s clash against Bayern Munich.

"There’s truth in the rumours," Gerrard told BT Sport, ahead of coverage of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

"I’ve held initial talks with Rangers and the plan is to pick them up in a couple of days time."

Will Steven Gerrard be a success at Rangers?
