Jennifer Lopez fights back tears after her first SAG Award nomination

Jennifer Lopez fights back tears as she celebrates her FIRST SAG Award nomination while walking on a treadmill: ‘I feel like I’ve already won’

She was spotted having a deep conversation on the phone as she approached the gym on Wednesday.

And perhaps the call was from Jennifer Lopez’s longtime manager, Benny Medina, letting her know she had received her first ever SAG Award nomination for her role as Ramona in Hustlers.

The 50-year-old took to her Instagram account while at the gym walking on the treadmill to express her excitement and gratitude while holding back the tears.

A dream come true! Jennifer Lopez struggled to keep it together on Wednesday after it was announced that the 50-year-old had received her first ever SAG Award nomination for her role in Hustlers

‘Holding back tears… means so much to me to be recognized by my fellow actors!!! Thank you so much to @sagawards for this nomination ♥️ it truly means the world to me!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!’ she captioned. 

The video saw Jennifer give a pre-winning acceptance speech, thanking her followers and encouraging struggling actors to keep trying. 

‘Hey guys! I don’t think I’ve ever been nominated for SAG Award before,’ she began. 

The moment she found out? Jennifer appeared teary eyed as she walked into the gym on Wednesday


Grateful: Jennifer took to social media to thank her fellow actors for the nomination 

Shell-shocked! ‘You know, acting was my first love along with dancing and I just, I just can’t believe all this is happening,’ she said in the video 

‘I am, so excited and so humbled to be recognized by my fellow actors out there.’  

She continued: ‘You know, acting was my first love along with dancing and I just, I just can’t believe all this is happening.’

‘To all the struggling actors out there, don’t give up, it could happen. It’s happening! Thank you so much, I feel like I already won, thank you. Thank you to SAG Awards. I’ll see you guys there!’  

Jennifer is nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.

So far her role in the 2019 movie, Hustlers, which she also produced, has seen her receive, 12 nominations, including, a Critics’ Choice Award, Golden Globe Award, Gotham Award and an independent Spirit Award.

She has already won two out of her 12 nominations.  

SAG Award nominations are frequently strong predictors for Academy Awards nods.

The Oscars shortlist will be announced on Monday December 16 with the complete nominations will be announced on January 13, 2020.

And the 2020 award season is looking good for Jennifer so far, receiving a Golden Globes nomination for Hustlers on Monday.

J-Lo was last nominated for a Golden Globe award in her breakout role, Selena.

The Golden Globes will air on Sunday January, 5, SAG Awards on Sunday January 19, and the Oscars on February, 9, 2020.
