‘They’re like: “Oh my God, that is not you!”‘ Kate Ferdinand reveals her three step-children laugh at her TOWIE stint… four years after leaving the career-making show
She first appeared on The Only Way Is Essex in 2015.
And while Kate Ferdinand’s reality TV days are well and truly behind her, she has revealed that her stepchildren, the kids of her husband Rio, tease her about her time on the show if scenes ever arise from her heyday.
The star, 29, who is stepmother to Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and nine-year-old Tia, joked that they ‘start laughing’ at clips of her from the series and can hardly believe it’s her.
‘Oh my God, that is not you!’ Kate Ferdinand has revealed that her husband Rio’s children Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and nine-year-old Tia tease her about her time on TOWIE
After soaring to fame on TOWIE in 2015, when she was introduced as the ex-girlfriend of show heartthrob Dan Edgar, she became a fan favourite, with her sizzling figure and girl’s girl personality winning hearts.
Yet Kate left the show and turned her back on the limelight in 2017 after sparking up a romance with Rio, 42, with whom she welcomed son Cree in December.
Revealing that her beloved stepchildren have seen her on TV, Kate told The Sun: ‘Every now and then a clip will come up of me on the TV and the kids will start laughing and be like, “Oh my God, that is not you!”‘
Kate added that ‘life throws you in crazy directions’ and she never imagined how much her life would change since the show.

She said: ‘I never saw myself here, of course. Life throws you in crazy directions and I do believe I am here for a reason.
‘I am so grateful I met Rio and the children and that our lives are as they are now. But it is crazy to look back and see where I was and where I am now.’
Earlier this week, Kate revealed that she felt ‘abnormal’ and ‘overwhelmed’ adjusting to parenthood after having Cree.
She said she struggled to recognise her own body and started to panic while experiencing the ‘whirlwind of emotion’ of becoming a new mum.

She told The Sun: ‘There are so many things about motherhood that no one tells you. I’d had the baby and I was in this whirlwind of emotion. My body was not the body I recognised. I felt really overwhelmed.
‘I was feeling really abnormal and I started panicking. ‘Am I meant to be feeling like this?’
She added that she considered posting glamorous pictures in the weeks after giving birth by emergency caesarean but chose not to because it wasn’t how she was really feeling.
Instead she chose to post a candid selfie 11 days after giving birth showing her postpartum figure, which revealed a significant bruise on her thigh.

Now Kate says she ‘felt like I had to share it’, adding that she received lots of messages from other women feeling the same afterwards.
She said she believes that is why it is right to ‘not share the perfect pictures all the time’.
The beauty went on to explain how it is hard to see out of the ‘post-pregnancy bubble’ after giving birth and said she felt like she would never go back to ‘normal’ or ‘feel the same again’.
Kate said: ‘I would love to look how I looked before Cree but I am not putting a load of pressure on myself’ (pictured in 2019)
However she added that ‘you do come out of the other side’ and ‘you will feel OK’.
Kate also admitted that when you are a new mum there is a lot of pressure to bounce back but said for her it wasn’t ‘realistic’ with having a newborn and looking after Rio’s three other children.
He shares the kids with his late wife Rebecca Ellison, who died in 2015 after a short battle with cancer.
She added: ‘I would love to look how I looked before Cree but I am not putting a load of pressure on myself because things don’t always go to plan when you have a baby.’
