On her reality TV show The Kardashians for Hulu she said that she only eats meat once in a while as she is ‘mostly plant based.’

She made the remarks when she was hosting a barbecue at her home as she dipped into some of the meat offerings.

Kim has cut back on the meat for the past few years as she hopes to get leaner, which she has been very successful at.

The Selfish author has also been working with personal trainer Melissa Alcantara who has gotten her to lift weights more.

In the past she said that she did a lot of cardio instead but feels the lifting is more effective.

This comes after Kim’s Met Gala crash diet to lose 16lbs in three weeks to fit into her Marilyn Monroe dress.

She did it by cutting out sugar and carbohydrates.

The reality star, 41, slashed her calorie intake and went for daily runs on a treadmill.

But Dr Deborah Salvatore, from Long Island University in New York, warned the plan could lead to regaining all the weight lost plus extra because someone will just revert to their old diet, rather than adopting a healthier one.

Her colleague Dr Laura Feldman said rapid weight loss could also slow down the metabolism, making it harder to lose weight because the body is now burning fewer calories every day.

Dietitians further added that people on the diet could be at risk of dehydration, and be left feeling irritable, light-headed or fatigued.

But one of the reality star’s trainers defended her approach to shedding the weight.

Kardashian’s trainer DON-A-MATRIX AKA Don ‘DB’ Brooks has insisted that the 41-year-old SKIMS mogul dropped the pounds in a healthy way and that she did not starve herself.

The Los Angeles based fitness trainer told TMZ on Wednesday that he did work with Kim in the lead up to fashion’s biggest night and that she put the proper amount of work in for the body transformation as he said: ‘I think one of the misconceptions people have about Kim is she works like really hard, right?

‘So I mean I was there through the process, so it wasn’t like a starving yourself type of thing. I mean she went on a real balanced diet and at times, you know, she wouldn’t eat as much. But then the second thing was she was in the gym and put the work in.’
