Following an appearance on Loose Women together, it appears that Connie caught the eye of ITV bosses – who approached her to be on the show shortly after.

Jenny explained to The Sun: ‘After I appeared on Loose Women with my eldest daughter Connie, Love Island producers got in touch and asked her if she’d be interested in going on the show. She is gorgeous, so I left it to her.’

But unable to hide her shock, the star continued: ‘I spat my coffee out when she told me and I said, “What did you say?”.

Despite the show’s best efforts, artist Connie wasn’t interested in the offer – sharing that she’s already loved up.

As her mother continued: ‘And she replied, “That I’ve got a boyfriend and I’m doing a History of Art Degree in UCL”. And she left it at that.’

Detailing that Connie would ‘never do it’, Jenny shared: ‘I think they contacted her through Instagram.’

MailOnline have contacted Love Island’s representatives for comment.

Jenny shares Connie and younger sister Pollyanna, 13, with her ex-husband Toby Baxendell, who she split from in 2009.

And Love Island’s attempt to secure famous offspring is no surprise, with the show welcoming some familiar faces in it’s most recent season.

Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of footballer Michael Owen, made quite an impression on the villa as she and partner Luca Bish placed second during August’s live final.

And following the stint, the dressage champion has secured a hefty deal with fashion giant PrettyLittleThing.

She was also joined in the villa by Ronan Keating’s son Jack, who appeared for the Casa Amor segment – but failed to find a connection.

While season four of the show saw actor Danny Dyer’s daughter, Dani, take the crown with former beau Jack Fincham.
