Miley Cyrus admits she 'never cared that much' about having children

Miley Cyrus says she ‘never cared much’ about having children and doesn’t plan on getting married again after divorce from Liam Hemsworth: ‘Forever is a big word’

Miley Cyrus is reflecting on her relationships after a string of break ups in the span of just a year.

The pop icon gets real about whether she will marry again and if children are on the cards for her, a year after the demise of her marriage to Liam Hemsworth.

Talking to SiriusXM Hits 1’s The Morning Mash Up, Miley, 27, confessed that starting a family has never been a priority for her.

‘I never really cared that much. I am sure that my fans are going to pull up me at 12 saying ‘oh I want to have kids’ but like I don’t, as a 27 year old woman that would have a little bit more of a realistic idea of what they want. That has never been kind of my priority.’

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker added that she’d prefer to adopt when she thinks about the environmental issues and limited resources on earth.

‘I actually think in a way, just looking at our climate change and our water and food it feels like to me if anything to me if anything that I would like to take someone that is on the earth. I love adoption and I think that’s really amazing.

‘I definitely don’t think, I do not shame anyone that wants to have children. I just personally don’t believe that’s a priority for me in my life…. For me I don’t just really think about marriage and things like this anymore…’

Miley, who is currently promoting her new single Midnight Sky, also confessed that she no longer believes in ‘forever’ the way she did as a kid, and reflected on how women are often villainized when their relationships fail.

‘I definitely don’t think, I do not shame anyone that wants to have children. I just personally don’t believe that’s a priority for me in my life’ the 27-year-old said about having kids

Miley said she doesn’t want to get married again, explaining, ‘You just don’t know who you’re going to be sitting with here right now. You never know who you’re going to evolve to be and who they’re going to evolve to be.’

‘That ‘forever,’ if it’s not successful or if you claimed something to be forever and you fail, then you’re a failure. And I just don’t think that. I think we’re kind of set up for devastation — in that, from the time we’re little kids, we’re taught to claim other humans as our best friends forever.

‘And you just don’t know who you’re going to be sitting with here right now. You never know who you’re going to evolve to be and who they’re going to evolve to be.

‘So I think that we, especially as women in relationships, a lot of the time we can get villainized when ‘forever’ doesn’t happen. And I think that you’re just really setting yourself up to kind of be disappointed — and not from a bitter or resentful way, but from a realistic and logical standpoint, especially in modern society.

Miley split from husband Liam Hemsworth in August 2019 after eight months of marriage. Their relationship began back in 2008

‘It just feels like forever is definitely a big word, especially for someone young,’ she added

‘We’re changing and evolving and understanding ourselves from such a different perspective that it just feels like forever is definitely a big word, especially for someone young, especially as three years old, we’re like, “Oh, this is my best friend forever.” It’s like, “You have no idea what Allie is going to become.”

In a separate interview which dropped hours earlier, Miley revealed the first time she had sex with a man was with Liam – and she lied about it to him for 10 years.

The singer discussed her personal and private life in a rare revealing interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, revealing her first sexual experience was a threesome with two girls.

The former child star got personal when discussing heartbreak, her sexuality and how Liam, 30, was the first man she had sex with at the age of 16 after hooking up with girls years before that.

‘I didn’t go all the way with a dude until I was 16,’ she said on the sex podcast. ‘But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy.’

Though she confessed at the time she lied to the actor about it being her first time.

‘I lied and said he wasn’t the first so I didn’t seem like a loser,’ she said adding that she couldn’t think of anyone so she chose a friend.

But a few years later Hemsworth’s friend ‘ended up’ marrying the man she lied about having sex with and she had to come clean.

‘It was a lie that I held on to for like 10 years,’ Miley said.

She added: ‘The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl, two of them,’ and that they went beyond ‘first base.’

Though her first time with man was at 16 she had had sexual experiences with girls years before that.

‘When I was 11 or 12 my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it,’ she said.

‘So I got most of my girl friends to hook up with me.’

‘I was attracted to girls way before I was ever attracted to guys,’ the We Can’t Stop singer said. ‘When I was like 11-years-old I thought Minnie Mouse was super f******g hot.’

Held on: For years Miley lied to Liam that he wasn’t her first time but had to come clean after his friend married the man she lied about

Miley spoke more of her relationship with Hemsworth, that started on the set of their film The Last Song in 2008 leading them to marry in December 2018 before splitting after eight months of marriage in August 2019.

‘The relationship I had for 10 years was an amazing time in my life,’ she said.

‘I love who I am so much right now if any of those things hadn’t happened I’m not sure that I would be the same person.’

After the couple split last year, she had a very brief and public relationship with Kaitlynn Carter, and said she struggled with being portrayed as having cheated.

‘I feel like as a woman I was villainized for moving on and I really feel like that isn’t acceptable,’ she said.

She then started dating Cody Simpson in October of 2019, though they ended their relationship in the last few weeks, according to TMZ on Thursday.

The episode appeared to have been recorded before the split as she referenced herself as being in a relationship with someone who is sober, as Simpson notably is.

Of future partners she said ‘I need a calming [partner], I need an anchor, I need a weight.’

Adding: ‘Someone has to bring more to the table than their plate. They can’t be like “fill me up” all the fu****g time. It’s really important that I feel fulfilled.’

‘Even in my relationships with men, a lot of the times, I kinda hold a more dominant space,’ she said adding that the power dynamic made relationships with women more appealing because it felt more natural.

‘I need to find a guy that’s confident enough in himself that he’s ok that I’m kind of masculine and strong, and there’s a lot of qualities to me that tend to associate more with the male role, and that’s just bulls**t.’

‘I was thinking…the last year has been really transformative,’ she said. ‘I felt this self-realization period…I started having that over the last two years.’

‘Through a little bit of trauma,’ she said of her personal growth.

‘Physical like my house burning down was one of the most transformative periods of my life, and going through a massive breakup. One thing that I gained through all the loss is an idea that what I do is for me, and that isn’t selfish.’
