Phillip Schofield looks glum ahead of This Morning return after Holly ‘rift’

Phillip Schofield was photographed looking downcast as he made his way to the This Morning studio on Monday morning.

The 61-year-old was dressed casually in a white shirt and blue jeans while carrying a large bag over his shoulder.

Phillip looked pensive as he left his West London home to present the ITV show alongside Holly Willoughby amid their rumoured rift.

There had been speculation over whether Holly and Phil would appear on the show together after it was reported that their friendship had “cooled”.

Nevertheless, an ITV spokesperson confirmed to Express.co.uk that the duo “will be back on the This Morning sofa”.

Phil’s appearance comes after it was reported he has “hired a lawyer” in a bid to “keep his reputation intact”.

A source told The Sun: “They are overseeing stories relating to ITV and his role on This Morning and are ensuring Phil is protected.

“Phil has done absolutely nothing wrong and doesn’t have a PR team guiding him.

“He and ITV felt he needed someone, officially, in his corner to ward off stuff that isn’t true. Phil doesn’t want this to get beyond his control.”

Rumours of a fallout emerged last week and Phil seemingly admitted to a shift in his friendship with Holly when he issued a shock statement.

He told the aforementioned publication that “the last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us”, but insisted that they are still the “best of friends”.
