Rita Ora is bound to cringe when she sees pics of this awkward make-up fail
The Met Gala is one of the biggest bashes of the year in the celeb calendar – and everyone wants to look perfect.
So thankfully for Rita Ora , this was just a pre party and not the real deal.
The Your Song hitmaker suffered an awkward make-up fail as she headed to Harry Josh’s party at the Public Hotel in New York this weekend.
The 27-year-old had a bit of a malfunction when she stepped out with a huge smear down her right cheek.
Her patchy make-up left her looking less than her usual flawless self.
Rita was dressed in a blue and grey striped patterned two piece, and carried a black handbag over her shoulder, while her blonde hair was woven into pigtails.
Despite the unfortunate make-up incident, Rita appeared confident as she walked along outside the party.
The Met Gala is an annual event that bring the world of celebrity and fashion together.
Every year, designers enlist big stars to wear their gown creations in the hope of having their clothes splashed all over the tabloids.
It’s dubbed the Oscars of fashion and has seen stars parade down the red carpet in some of the most fabulous, risqué and totally bonkers outfits you can imagine.
In previous years we’ve seen Rihanna as the yolk of an egg, a very pregnant Kim Kardashian blooming in a pair of flowery curtains and Madonna’s bare butt cheeks thrust in our faces.
Previously named the Costume Institute Gala, it is also known as the Met Gala or Met Ball and was founded by publicist Eleanor Lambert in 1948 when the first fundraising event was held.
It is now held each year to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute in New York City.
Each Gala marks the start of the museum’s annual fashion exhibit and the theme is also the the dress code for the night. Previous themes have included Superheroes: Man and the Horse, Fashion and Fantasy and Punk: Chaos to Couture.
This year’s theme is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.
It’s being hailed the most controversial theme yet.
