Roy Keane makes unlikely Liverpool vs Roma prediction

Roy Keane has predicted the outcome of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Roma – and he expects the Reds to go through without any problems.

Liverpool battered Roma 5-2 in the first leg of the semi-final last week, with Mohamed Salah (2), Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino (2) all getting on the scoresheet.

But after conceding two away goals, the Reds will have to be aware of complacency as Roma will attempt to do what they did against Barcelona in the quarter-finals, and overturn a three-goal defecit.

One man who has an opinion on the final result is Manchester United legend Keane, who isn’t known for heaping praise on Liverpool.

According to the Irishman, there is no way back for the Serie A club.

"I can’t see it [a Roma comeback] on the performance in the first leg. Roma will be better at home, but Liverpool just tore them to shreds," Keane told ITV Sport.

"They could have scored ten. Pretty straight forward tactics from Liverpool.

"Get the ball forward quickly and let the attackers do the rest. Intensity, pace, quality… to me there is no way back for Roma.

"They will be disappointed with a couple of goals they conceded at the end, but I thought Liverpool were outstanding.

"Liverpool will fancy their chances in this competition now, no doubt about that."
