Sir Mick Jagger pays touching birthday tribute to late girlfriend L’Wren Scott
Sir Mick Jagger has paid tribute to he liane girlfriend L’Wren Scott – who died in March 2014.
The 74-year-old Rolling Stones legend was in a relationship with fashion designer L’Wren from 2001 until she took her own life at the age of 49.
Taking to social media on Saturday, Mick posted a photo of the woman he had loved for 13 years to mark what would have been her 54th birthday.
Mick shared an image of the late fashion designer showing her perched on a table wearing a striking red dress.
“Happy birthday L’Wren. MJ,” the rock star wrote as she shared the image with followers.
Fans of the rocker were touched by his gesture, with one commenting: "So sorry for your loss @mickjagger may she forever Rest In Peace."
American designer L’Wren was found dead in her New York apartment over four years ago.
A coroner ruled the designer had taken her own life and the tragic news left Mick devastated.
"We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves,” Mick wrote on Facebook at the time of her death.
"She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me,” he wrote – describing L’Wren as his “lover and best friend.”
The Rolling Stones cancelled tour plans as Mick grieved for his lost love.
L’Wren’s fashion empire was said to be facing financial problems at the time of her death – however stars across the globe had loved her designs, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama among fans.
Sir Mick has since found love again with dancer Melanie Hamrick and the couple welcomed a son, named Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger, on 8 December 2016.
