As Wednesday’s show opened, Phil exclaimed: ‘Look who’s back!’ leaving Josie gushing: ‘Thank you so much!’ while Phil added: ‘There’s been a massive response. Everyone loves you’

‘Social media can be a very dark place. But yesterday I was showered with love. It’s really embarrassing, but I had a good cry for about half an hour!’ admitted Josie.

Phil asked Josie if she had cried tears of “relief”, and she admitted: ‘It was just so emotional. It was a really big thing to be sat here with you yesterday, and to have all those lovely messages.

‘I can’t thank you guys at home enough,’ gushed Jodie, before adding: ‘I want Holly to get better. I can only wing it for so long!’

Phil also gave an update on Holly’s situation, explaining: I was texting Holly all afternoon yesterday and, apparently, it is a tummy bug that is going around everywhere. It’s a two-day thing, so she’s lost her appetite.

‘Morning, Hols. Hope you’re alright. I’ll message you later, Holly, and we’ll probably see you tomorrow!’

And as the show began, Holly took to her Instagram Stories to thank Josie for stepping in, and confirmed she would be back next to Phil when she is no longer being sick.

She wrote: ‘Thank you @josiegibson85 for saving the day yesterday… you are a dream! … I’ll be back as soon as I’m in no threat of vomiting on @schofe (sic)’

But viewers were quick to show their support for Josie, with some even requesting for her to permanently replace Holly in the co-hosting role.
