Alisson’s wife Natalia Loewe who played key role in £65m Liverpool transfer
Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson has sealed a world-record move to Liverpool.
The 25-year-old has completed his £65m switch from Roma and in turn become the most-expensive goalkeeper of all time.
Alisson is the latest big-money arrival at Anfield in a busy summer, that has already seen Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri arrive.
The Roma stopper makes the transfer after his wife Natalia Loewe Becker reportedly agreed to join him in moving to Liverpool.
Loewe was said to be hesitant to leave Rome with the couple having a one-year-old daughter Helena to think about when making the decision.
However, she is said to have spoken to Larissa Pereira, the wife of Roberto Firmino, to discuss moving to Liverpool.
Loewe, who married the goalkeeper in 2015, was convinced that she and the rest of the family would easily settle in the city.
The couple met when Loewe was studying to become a doctor and Alisson was playing for Internacional and dated for three years before tying the knot.
Earlier this year, he said: "My wife Natalia left Brazil five months after graduating to be with me. That meant a lot to me. I enjoyed supporting her while she was finishing her studies at university.
"I guess that made me a bit different to other footballers. And, if you don’t feel well, it’s better to be living with a doctor than a model."
Alisson and his wife have been holidaying in Sardinia since Brazil’s quarter-final exit at the World Cup.
Loewe was spotted in the stands during the tournament alongside her daughter, cheering on the goalkeeper.
She has continually been pestered on social media with her 93,000 Instagram followers asking if her husband would be moving to Anfield.
Reds fans have finally got their answer…
