Bryson DeChambeau reveals crazy 6000-calorie-a-day diet which includes SEVEN protein shakes – The Sun

MASTERS favourite Bryson DeChambeau has revealed the crazy 6000-calorie-a-day diet that helped him pack on 3st of muscle in just nine months.

The golfer – who muscled his way to a memorable six-shot victory at the US Open – won after opting for all-out brawn on the golf course.

And it has so far paid off, with the 26-year-old American smashing a 428-yard drive during the Travelers Championship.

He also went onto win his sixth PGA Tour title at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last month – obliterating Tiger Woods' long drive record in the process.

His rise in form is down to a new physique which has come about from radically altering the way he eats.

DeChambeau went through his daily diet – which includes a whopping seven protein shakes and is more than double the recommended amount.

He said: "In the mornings I usually have four eggs, five pieces of bacon, some toast and two protein shakes.

"Then throughout the course of the day I'll have a GoMacro [protein] bar here and there.

"I'll have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I'll have another protein drink.

"I'll have at least two protein drinks on the golf course – every six holes. Then after the round I'll have one.

"After that I'm snacking when I'm practising afterwards.

"Go back to the hotel, eat dinner. Steak and potatoes.

"Then I'll have two protein shakes with it there as well. I'm consuming six to seven protein shakes a day.

"I used to be on two or three. "I've upped the weight. Upped everything. I've had to consume a lot more.

"Luckily I like the taste of those shakes so I can take those pretty easily. My calorific intake is about 3,500, something like that."

DeChambeau has ballooned to just over 17st (107kg) and gone up from a size medium shirt to extra large after pumping iron in the gym.

He gained 20lbs of muscle in lockdown alone and swings the driver at just shy of 140mph, with the ball leaving his clubface at more than 200mph.

But some fans feared what his new burly frame will do to his golf.

One said: "Sorry Bryson… Doesn't look good, can't be healthy, back will give out with the weight, and wait til you turn 40!"
