Why Dortmund may be forced to delay Batshuayi decision

Borussia Dortmund want to sign stricken Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal.

The Belgium international scored nine goals in 14 games for the Bundesliga outfit before his campaign was ended prematurely after an ankle injury.

Batshuayi is due to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer but it remains to be seen whether he has a future in west London.

However, Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke wants to make the switch permanent after an impressive loan spell.

He told Bild : "The interest to commit him is basically there. Chelsea have two strikers with Giroud and Morata anyway. But first we have to wait and see who will be Chelsea’s coach next season. Then we’ll see."
