Liverpool given boost in chase for £30m Norwich star James Maddison

Norwich are set to cash in on young midfielder James Maddison.

The mid-table Championship club have put a £30million price tag on Maddison, who was crowned the club’s Player of the Year.

England U21 attacking ace Maddison, 21, who has 15 goals this term, is wanted by the likes of Liverpool and Man City.

He is set to be sold and in-form winger Josh Murphy, 23, who has 11 goals this season, has top-flight admirers too at Swansea, Leicester and Crystal Palace.

Murphy is open to move to the Premier League like his twin brother Jacob, who joined Newcastle last summer for £12million.

They are set to tie Alex Tettey down to a new deal, though.

Mirror Sport understands the Canaries are this week set to announce a new two-year deal for influential holding midfielder Tettey.

Ex-Norway international Tettey, 32, had been due to become a free agent this summer after snubbing City’s initial offers.

Negotiations had been dragging as the Carrow Road club’s finances are set to take a big hit as their parachute payments end.

It has seen the mid-table Championship club release popular midfielder Wes Hoolahan.

Is James Maddison worth £30million?
