Raiders’ Kemah Siverand arrested for Houston street-racing incident
Kemah Siverand may want to tap the brakes.
The Raiders cornerback was arrested in Houston over the weekend after being caught street racing. According to police, Siverand was one of five drivers racing on the North Loop East at 12:05 on Sunday morning. He initially stopped for police and then continued to drive for another mile, police said.
The 24-year-old was charged with felony evading arrest. Two other drivers were charged with racing on a highway.
Siverand joined the Raiders practice squad in October and signed a futures contract for 2021 in January. The team has yet to acknowledged the incident.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Oklahoma State product has run into controversy while with an NFL team. Siverand signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2020 season, but was famously cut after he tried to sneak a woman, disguised in Seahawks gear, into the training camp hotel as the team tried to safely hold camp amid COVID-19.
