TIGER WOODS is in hospital after suffering a car crash in Los Angeles.

The golf superstar, 45, was driving in California when the car rolled over following a collision and he had to be cut from the wreckage.

    Justin Thomas has spoken about fellow golf star Tiger Woods' car crash.

    The golf star, 27, said: "I'm sick to my stomach.

    "It hurts to see one of your – now closest friends get in an accident. Man, I hope he's alright.

    "Just a word for his kids, I'm sure they're struggling."

    Shocking TV footage of Tiger Woods' car crash has emerged, showing the extent of the damage.

    Fire crews had to lift him from the vehicle with the 'jaws of life' before Woods was transferred to hospital by paramedics.

    According to the department, the vehicle sustained 'major damage'.

    Footage from the scene showed a Bentley on its side with the front of the vehicle crushed.

    It appeared to have crashed in a grassy area, not on a road.

    AGENT STATEMENT

    The five-time Masters winner is in surgery following the accident, his agent has confirmed.

    The star's representative, Mark Steinberg, said in a statement: "Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries.

    "He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."

    LAPD STATEMENT

    Cops said Tiger was travelling alone when his car was involved in a “roll-over traffic collision” at 7.12am local time.

    They said the vehicle suffered “major damage” – with shocking pictures showing the mangled wreck on a hillside, next to the main road.

    The car’s windows were smashed, its front end caved in and an airbag deployed.

    Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said: “The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage.

    “The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods.

    “Mr Woods was extricated from the wreck with the jaws of life by LA County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.”

    TIGER IN SHOCK CRASH

    Tiger Woods is undergoing surgery on leg injuries after being cut from his car following an accident in Los Angeles, officials have confirmed.

    Fire crews had to use "jaws of life" cutting equipment to remove Woods from the wreckage of the vehicle after it rolled over and suffered "major damage".

    The 15-time major winner was taken to a local hospital by ambulance having suffered "multiple leg injuries", according to his manager Mark Steinberg.

    A statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department read: "On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.

    "The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage.

    "The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods. Mr Woods was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.

    "The traffic investigation is being conducted by investigators from LASD Lomita Station."

    Steinberg confirmed the news shortly afterwards.

    "Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries," he told Golf Digest. "He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."

    Former United States alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn, a former girlfriend of Woods, tweeted: "Praying for TW right now."
