How Van der Sar is blocking Man United’s attempts to sign top European star

Jose Mourinho is interested in Ajax winger Justin Kluivert, son of Dutch legend Patrick.

The 18-year-old is ready to turn down a new deal which would make him the highest paid player at his club following interest from the Reds.

Former United keeper Edwin Van der Sar is now the Ajax chief executive officer.

The Dutchman spent six seasons at Old Trafford, making more than 260 appearances, before hanging up his gloves in 2011.

However, he has urged Kluivert jnr to remain at the club to continue his development.

The player’s agent, Mino Raiola, however, is ready to entertain offers this summer. Raiola also represents United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Kluivert has netted nine times in 29 games for Ajax this season, and his exploits for the Dutch giants have caught United’s attention.

Will Justin Kluivert grow up to be as good as his dad?
