What time does transfer window open TOMORROW, is it early this summer and can both Premier League and EFL clubs sign players?
THE transfer window is back!
Just four days after the end of the season, the Premier League's biggest clubs are now able to strengthen their squads for the 2019/20 campaign.
And time is of the essence with the World Cup just around the corner.
Here is all you need to know about this summer's transfer window.
When does the transfer window open?
The transfer window will open on Thursday, May 16 at 00.01am for clubs in the Premier League.
This marks a change on previous years when the window would open on June 1.
Is the transfer window opening early this summer?
The Premier League voted two years ago to move the transfer deadline forward, from August 31 to August 8, so that all squads will be confirmed before the season starts on August 10.
But Fifa rules state that each country must have one transfer window which lasts 12 weeks, so the start date has also been brought forward.
Last year's transfer window was the first such window under the new rules.
Can only Premier League clubs buy players early?
The Premier League and EFL are both operating the new system and can sign players this week.
But international transfers will have to wait until Sunday, June 9.
