Disneyland is selling rainbow Mickey Mouse ears in time for Pride month
Disney parks in the US have started selling Mickey Mouse rainbow ears, just in time for Pride month in June.
According to Hornet, the rainbow ears are an in-park exclusive release and have been spotted at both California’s Disneyland and the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida, but word is getting out thanks to the number of photos of the ‘Mickey Mouse Rainbow Love’ ears popping up on social media recently.
YouTuber Joey Graceffa shared a picture of himself and his partner in the rainbow ears, and he wasn’t the only one to spot them either:

According to those who’ve seen the ears for sale in the parks, they sell for $17.99, with a Disney spokesperson telling HuffPost: “We offer a wide range of merchandise items that appeal to guests of diverse backgrounds.”
It comes as the Disney Channel made history last year when it revealed one of the key characters in its show Andi Mack was coming out as gay.
The teen comedy drama focuses on the titular character played by Peyton Elizabeth Lee, but the storyline that launched in October followed her friend Cyrus Goodman (Joshua Rush) as he struggled with his feelings for another boy in their friend circle, Jonah (Asher Angel).

Elsewhere in the world of Disney, Frozen fans have been sharing their support for the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend movement, which encourages Disney to follow through with the original film’s allusions to the LGBTQ* community.
Elsa actress Idina Menzel has voiced her support for the idea, and earlier this year co-director Jennifer Lee seemed receptive to it too.
“It means the world to us that we’re part of these conversations,” she said. “Where we’re going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things.”
