If your TalkTalk broadband isn’t working this afternoon you’re not alone. It seems the popular Internet Service Provider (ISP) is having issues with some parts of the UK facing a total internet blackout. The gremlins appear to have started at around 2.30 pm with areas around the East Midlands worst affected by the internet outage.
Independent tracking website DownDetector, which monitors mentions across social media to track when web services are offline, is uggesting that hundreds of customers are currently experiencing the outage with TalkTalk’s broadband.
The firm has also now confirmed it has an issue, with its status page saying, “We’re aware that some customers in and around the East Midlands are currently experiencing a loss of service.
“We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and assure you that our engineers are working to restore service as a priority.”
Users are also flocking to social media to complain about the issues. One TalkTalk customer said: “Hi @TalkTalk you are making it impossible to work from home. My Internet is down along with many others. Please help ASAP.”
Whilst another tweeted: “@TalkTalk no Internet for the past 30 mins. I’m in Leicester area and work from home…. what’s going on?”
There’s currently no word on when the issue will be sorted although TalkTalk is working on fix so hopefully is should be resolved soon.
