The rapper tweeted a video calling for Americans to embrace faith and encourage each other in his first official campaign message. Mr West also tweeted an image apparently showing early election results from Kentucky which put him ahead of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

The image is from 18 based in Lexington, Kentucky but early votes are not counted until day on November 3, 2020.

However, Lex 18 responded to the rapper’s tweet saying: “The results shown were not valid. They were simply part of a test.”

The rapper said in his campaign video: We have to act on faith with the sure knowledge that we are pursuing the right goal and doing the right things.

“We will build a stronger nation by building stronger families.

“Families are the building blocks of society and a nation.”

Mr West also tweeted: “PEOLE (sic) TRIED TO TALK ME OUT OF RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT… NEVER LET WEAK CONTROLLING PEOPLE KILL YOUR SPIRIT.”

Some viewers took to Twitter to share their views on Mr West’s chances of becoming President.

Other viewers stated that voting for Kanye West was indirectly voting for Donald Trump.

One Twitter user said: “Kanye West is funny for dropping that campaign video extra late like the election ain’t in a couple of weeks.”

Another tweeted: “Kanye West continues his propaganda campaign in a blatant effort to mislead votes for the Democratic Party & steal this election for the Republican Party.”

A third said: “‘A Vote for Kanye West is a vote for Trump’ no, I’m pretty sure a vote for Kanye west is a vote for Kanye West.”
