Millionaire fake doctor who sexually assaulted women jumped out window to escape
A millionaire posed as a doctor looking for medical volunteers in a ruse to sexually assault women – before fleeing to Kenya when police were called.
Kevin McCarthy, 67, posted "carefully designed" adverts on Facebook, Craigslist and LinkedIn calling for volunteers to train first-aiders heading to war zones for a charity.
The married bailiff company boss hired an office in London and asked the women to undress before conducting "vaginal examinations" on May 23, 2019.
Wood Green Crown Court heard on Friday that McCarthy does not have any medical qualifications and assaulted the six victims by inserting either his fingers or a speculum for "sexual gratification".
McCarthy tried to run the same scheme again months later, but when a would-be victim called the police to report him, he jumped out a window and fled to Kenya.

Prosecutor Don Rogers said: "The Crown say the victims were unwillingly duped by the defendant for an examination for the purposes of teaching role-play and first aid.
"Posing as a medical doctor, the defendant conducted detailed examinations of the women's vaginas."
All the women, who were aged between 19 and 23, were paid £50 and assured there would not be any "invasive procedures".
McCarthy tried to run the scheme again four months later, but a woman became suspicious when she heard him offer to remove another woman's contraceptive coil.
She asked him for identification and he told her he had left it at home, prompting her to call the police.
He was arrested at Heathrow Airport a month later.

McCarthy was supported at the sentencing by his wife of 43 years, Debbie, and his business partner.
The court heard he has led an "exemplary and industrious life" as a prominent member of the bailiff trade association and has set up a safari and conservancy association in Kenya's Maasai Mara reserve.
"I have had a very loving, happy marriage for 43 years, very mutually supportive," Mrs McCarthy, 62, told the court.
"Never in a million years would I have expected to face anything like this."
She said her husband has been attending therapy on bail and was "committed to getting help" as he is "terribly sorry and ashamed".
McCarthy initially denied his actions were sexually-motivated and claimed that he acted out doctor-patient role-plays when he was stressed – but this was rejected by a judge as "utter nonsense".
One woman said: "When I left the health clinic I felt really awful about the situation – I felt like I had been abused and felt embarrassed and ashamed this had happened to me.
"I never thought someone would pretend to be a doctor. It makes me feel physically sick. I look at myself in the mirror and I feel disgusted.
"This man has taken my trust in people away and made me question everything."
A single mum said she had applied to be a volunteer to help feed her son, but the incident has left her feeling "extremely weak, vulnerable and dirty".
Another victim, a medical student, says the incident left her feeling unable to return to university because the assault made her "less trusting of doctors" and unsure of her own abilities.
A report by probation services found that McCarthy posed a "significant risk" to the public, adding: "His risk factors are unknown and his behaviour unpredictable. He has the intelligence and financial means to conduct elaborate schemes to facilitate his offending and remain undetected."
Jailing him for six-and-a-half years, Judge Noel Lucas QC said: "Each of these young women has been very significantly affected by your actions.
"Each has been left with life-changing feelings of shame, depression, anxiety and a lack of trust in men."
He ordered McCarthy to pay compensation of £10,000 to each of the victims, as well as £1,600 in costs, and he will have to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for an indefinite period.
