A man climbed to the top of the 10-meter high diving board but before he could jump, fear got the better of him.<\/p>\n
Terrified, the unidentified young man refused to come down and also refused to jump \u2013 so the lifeguard made him.<\/p>\n
In a horrifying clip, the lifeguard was caught brutally kicking the man over the edge and into the water below.<\/p>\n

It is understood that two other lifeguards had asked the man to come down on his own accord, but he had refused.<\/p>\n
The third then gave the man no choice and booted him over the edge of the pool in Austria on August 13.<\/p>\n
Austrian publication O\u00d6Nachrichten reported the company has launched an internal investigation following the incident \u2013 inquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n
Steyrer Stadtbades, the authority in charge of the swimming pool, confirmed that the lifeguard did kick the pool goer.<\/p>\n
They added the lifeguard will no longer be allowed to work at the pool where the attack occurred.<\/p>\n

He will continue to work at other pools run by the authority.<\/p>\n
Video of the incident was published by the German publication Bild.<\/p>\n
The SBS statement reads: \u201cSBS will do everything they can so that the Steyrer, and the Steyrer in the future can bring an enjoyable and comfortable time at Steyrer Stadtbad.<\/p>\n

\u201c'A lifeguard's job is to ensure the safety of customers. Therefore it is very regrettable that the lifeguard was involved with the fall.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are doing all we can to be clear of the circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n
After meeting with pool guests who were present at the time, SBS also apologised for the "lapse of judgement" shown by the lifeguard.<\/p>\n
