For the second day of carnival festivities, attendees were treated to a performance by music legend Shaggy.<\/p>\n

Taking to the Saxon, Rampage and Horniman stages, he said: ‘It’s been a great day. Notting Hill Carnival massive! It’s nice to come back to the roots.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We went to Rampage and Horniman, which had thousands of people out there; great energy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘The legendary Saxon sound system was a highlight for me because I grew up on that sound system, so it was good to touch that, the crowd was amazing. Big up Musclehead. Great vibes! We were In The Mood and it’s been a lovely lovely day.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taking to her Instagram, Lily delighted fans with her quirky outfit as she danced along with friends to the street performers.<\/p>\n

The annual event is the largest street party in Europe and it’s estimated that two million people have attended over the bank holiday weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the sweet, smoky scent of jerk chicken filled the side streets where sound systems played everything from rare groove to house, samba, reggae and ska.<\/p>\n
Originating from the late 1950s and 60s, Carnival is a community-led celebration honouring music, dancing, food and drink rooted in Caribbean culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Monday’s parade was said to be particularly focusing on ‘adults day’, which involves lots of dancing and partying.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, the Metropolitan Police tweeted that a section 60 order, that provides police officers with additional powers to search people, was authorised following ‘intelligence concerning weapons.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
