She said: ‘Ideally but I mean I ask myself who it will be but it’s not down to me, people seem to think I have a lot to say on a lot of issues, but it’s really down to the public.’<\/p>\n

Holly added: ‘We\u2019ve known each other for a really long time she\u2019s been on this morning longer than me. It\u2019s a really natural home for her.’<\/p>\n

Asked about fan support since Phillip left the show following his affair with a younger male colleague, Holly said: ‘If I\u2019m honest it\u2019s been really up and down. But what\u2019s lovely is people rallying around you. The support is there. People want us to do well. It all feels good again.<\/p>\n

\u2018I just want to the future to continue as it is. We are very blessed we have a great team of people we really do. I know there\u2019s been a lot of talk about things and for me personally, I don\u2019t want to speak on behalf of other people, it\u2019s a world I don\u2019t recognise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘For me, I look around and see the team getting ready and giving it all. I just want to come to work and have more of that.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

It comes just hours after the dancer shared a health update with fans after her\u00a0latest round of chemotherapy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the show,\u00a0it was Ant and Dec who claimed their 22nd NTA at the annual ceremony following a successful return to the Australian jungle with ITV1 juggernaut I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!<\/p>\n

The pair claimed the award ahead of the much fancied Hammond, notably selected ahead of her This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby\u00a0in the category for Best Presenter.<\/p>\n

The co-hosts – who were also competing with Martin Lewis, Claudia Winkleman and Bradley Walsh\u00a0– admitted they were “more nervous than ever” before going into the event on Tuesday evening, but were just as “humbled and grateful” to receive the honour as they had ever been.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere Danielle Harold cried as she picked up the Serial Drama Performance Award for her former role in EastEnders.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actress appeared genuinely stunned as she made her way onto the stage after her portrayal of brain tumour victim Lola Pearce-Brown’s final days saw her scoop the accolade ahead of Emmerdale’s Dominic Brunt and Coronation Street stars Charlotte Jordan and Maureen Lipman.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the evening, the TV Interview honour went to The Graham Norton Show but unlike category rivals Louis Theroux, Piers Morgan and Chris and Rosie Ramsay, the host wasn’t at the ceremony to be able to accept the accolade in person<\/p>\n

The Traitors won the Reality Competition prize, while the third season of ‘Happy Valley’ landed the Returning Drama honour.<\/p>\n

The evening’s first award, the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, was presented to Gogglebox.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Happy Valley also triumphed on the night, with the show winning in the category for Returning Drama, while actress Sarah Lancashire claimed the award for best Drama Performance while she also was honoured with a Special Recognition award.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Holly returned to This Morning alongside Alison on Monday following an eight-week summer break, to\u00a0lackluster reviews.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the show was thrown into turmoil when her long-running co-host and ‘BFF’ Schofield resigned after admitting to an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger male colleague.<\/p>\n

The pair faced boos from the crown at last year’s NTAs following the scandal in which they appeared to skip the queue to see the Queen lying in state.<\/p>\n

Despite Holly not being nominated for an award this year, it didn’t stop her rallying behind Alison.<\/p>\n

She took to Instagram and wrote: ‘Having been lucky enough to have this summer break to focus on the children, it’s now lovely to be back on the sofa and there was certainly joy in abundance with Alison Hammond today!\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘This wonderful lady has been nominated in the ‘Best Presenter’ category at tomorrow night’s NTA’s and there is still time to vote for her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘So, [if] you’ve ever been filled with joy by The Hammond\u2026and let’s be honest, who hasn’t?!…then you know what to do, click here to vote!’<\/p>\n

She added: ‘This week’s lunar phase is the Third Quarter Moon. It’s known as a good time to release negativity and any old habits that might be hindering you, which sounds very fitting for the new beginnings that come with the arrival of September.\u00a0<\/p>\n
